More than 708,900 people have been internally displaced within South Sudan and over 250,000 into neighbouring countries. Resources and capacity are stretched in South Sudan and in neighbouring countries, where agencies respond to the regional impact of the crisis in addition to assisting people in need in these countries. Insecurity, lack of access and the onset of the rains are preventing humanitarian agencies from reaching all those in need, making the pre-positioning and transportation of supplies a priority.
