South Sudan: CCCM Cluster Monthly Situation Report (1-31 October 2018)

National CCCM Cluster

  • CCCM national cluster participated in the OCHA-led Humanitarian Response Plan development process where cluster presented its response plan for 2019. The Cluster will be targeting about 855,000 IDPs in 2019.

Mangateen site

  • In collaboration with WFP, Camp management supported general food distribution where 1,030 households a total 3,300 individuals were served with food.

Bor PoC

  • To ensure informed and dignied return of IDPs in PoC, CCCM, a member of Solution working group facilitated the rst two ights to relocate the IDPs from Bor PoC to Akobo. This excercise was completed on 31st October 2018. A total of 73 individuals, mostly women and children were relocated.

  • On arrival to Akobo, the IDPs were provided with a 30 day food ration and some essential items like seeds, farm tools and solar lamps. It is hoped that the IDPs will be integrated into Akobo general food distribution.

Malakal PoC

  • Youth Impasse in PoC site continues with no end in sight. Stakeholders continue to express concern about the reduced capacity to implement services arising out of the continuing stand-off by youths/leadership.

Aburoc

  • To enhance wider communication with community leaders at site level, camp management donated 30 solar radios to community welfare committee.

Wau

  • Camp management chaired the weekly PoCs partners’ coordination meeting on Tuesday 2nd of October 2018. Key issues discussed in the meeting were- the late enrolment of children in kindergarten and non attendance CLC and decision to relocate all butchers that are blocking access roads within PoCAA.

  • Community Leadership Committee meetings mobilized the POCAA leadership for a training organized by RRP for 3 days.

  • Camp management in PoCAA conducted a meeting with partners in Zone A service area to make collective decision for fencing.

Bentiu
PoC:

  • Sensitized the community on registration of lost/damaged/stolen cards across all sectors and supported DTM teams in these efforts • Conducted meetings with all sector leadership and trader unions in Sectors 2 and 3 with CWG presence to brief on operations role and discuss issues to prioritize and how to work together.

Bentiu town/Rubkona collective site

  • The CCCM cluster through DRC facilitated CCCM training for Beyond Bentiu Response (BBR) partners in which 23 participants from different agencies (UN agencies, INGOs, NNGOs) attended the training.
