Cholera outbreak in Juba, Central Equatoria State - Situation Report (Sitrep No. 7) as at 18:00 Hours, 22 May 2014

  • As of 22 May 2014 at 5p.m, 80 new cases have been admitted at cholera treatment centre (CTC) in Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH). A total of 109 cases were discharged leaving 58 patients on admission in the CTC.

  • Since the beginning of the outbreak, a total of 395 cholera cases including seven health facility deaths and seven community deaths (CFR 3.5%) have been reported.. with majority 308 (78%) of cases treated at the CTC in JTH.

  • Cholera cases have been reported from six Payams in Juba County with the most affected being Northern Bari 177 (44.8%).
