Cholera outbreak in Juba, Central Equatoria State - Situation Report (Sitrep No. 5) as at 18:00 Hours; 20 May 2014

Seventy-eight (78) new cases were admitted at cholera treatment centre (CTC) in Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH) on 20 May 2014. A total of 82 cases were discharged on 20 May 2014 leaving 59 patients on admission in the cholera treatment centre.

ƒ Overall, a cumulative of 266 cholera cases including six (6) health facility deaths and seven (7) community deaths (CFR 4.9%) have been reported since the onset of the outbreak on 24 April 2014. The majority of the reported cases 179 (67%) have been treated at the Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH) Cholera Treatment Centre (CTC).

ƒ Cholera cases have been reported from six Payams in Juba county with the most affected being Northern Bari 130 (49%), Muniki 55 (21%), Rejaf 25 (9%), Juba 30 (11%), and Kator 15 (6%).
