Cholera outbreak in Juba, Central Equatoria State - Situation Report (Sitrep No. 3) as at 17:00 Hours 18 May 2014

ƒ Thirty‐nine (39) new cases were admitted at cholera treatment centre (CTC) in Juba Teaching Hospital (JTH) on 18 May 2014. A total of 21 cases were discharged on 18 May 2014 leaving 81 patients receiving care in the cholera treatment centre.

ƒ Overall 138 cumulative cholera cases including three (3) health facility deaths (CFR 2.2%) have been reported since the onset of the outbreak on 25 April 2014. The majority of the reported cases 101 (73%) have been treated in JTH CTC.

ƒ Cholera cases have been reported from seven Payams in Juba county with the most affected being Northern Bari 60 (43%), Muniki 34 (25%), Juba 17 (12%), Rejaf 13 (9%), and Kator 10 (7%).
