Ghadarif, May 26 (SUNA) - Deputy Wali (governor) of Gedarif State, Kamil Haroun, received Monday a delegation of the African Development Bank for the Horn of Africa Project for Combat of Desertification and Drought, in the presence of the Finance Minister of the state.
Chairman of the delegation, Abdou Kamara, indicated that the delegation's visit aims to standing on the activities and programs being carried out by the state's government in fields of combating of desertification and drought, noting that the project is funded by the bank in eight African states. He referred to the allocation of 45 million dollars to the States of Gedarif, Kassala and White Nile to avoid esertification, drought and the impact of floods.
The Deputy Wali (governor) has welcomed the visit of the delegation and stressed the importance of the project to the state.
Meanwhile, the visiting delegation held joint meeting with the technicians of the state's Ministries of Animal Resources, Agriculture, Rural Planning and Water Resources to select projects for implementation. TA/MO
