At least two people are confirmed dead and one more reported missing in a cattle raid by unknown gunmen in Duk Payuwel of Jonglei State on Thursday.

Speaking to Radio Miraya this morning from Jonglei State, the Sommissioner of Duk County, Elijah Mochnom, confirmed the incident, saying a number of cattle were looted

"It happened yesterday at around 1pm. Some raiders came and raided the cattle while still at the grazing yard. Two people were found dead and one person is still missing. The people are still following their cattle," he said. The number of cattle raided is not yet established.

This is the latest incident of cattle raiding in Jonglei State following recent clashes between the Murle and Lou Nuer which have created a humanitarian crisis in the area.
