Storm injures four in Bor

(29th March 2013) - Four people were injured after their makeshift houses collapsed during a storm in Jonglei State capital Bor on Thursday.

Marol Market, Hai-Salam and Achingdiir residential areas were the most affected suburbs. The resident chief of Hai Salam, Peter Achiek Kur, said the injured were receiving treatment.

Kur, said a number of residents have been affected by the wind and rain which blew off the roofs of their iron sheet houses. “There are four people who sustained injuries" Achiek said. “Now these people are staying without houses,” he said.

The Principal of the Royal Junior Academy, Kur Madol, said all his pupils were safe, although the storm destroyed a school kitchen and classroom.
