Humanitarian partners appeal for US$1.16 billion to meet emergency needs in South Sudan for 2013.

Humanitarian partners appealed for $1.16 billion to address urgent humanitarian needs in South Sudan for 2013. As of 28 February, the appeal is only 6 per cent funded. Thirty-five per cent of funding requested is of immediate priority, as it will serve to procure, transport and preposition emergency aid in remote locations before the rainy season.

The appeal reflects the humanitarian community's collective commitment to reduce suffering, provide protection, and boost the resilience of the most vulnerable people across the country.
