• Tension is high in Abyei after killing of a senior traditional leader. Aid agencies are monitoring closely for humanitarian implications.

• Civilians are displaced in southern Jonglei State following clashes in Maruwa Hills between South Sudan army and non-state actors.

• Meningitis outbreak is declared in Upper Nile State, with 73 reported cases and three deaths. Partners prepare to vaccinate over 150,000 people.

• Water and sanitation partners scale up programmes in Yida refugee site to avoid spike in waterborne diseases.
