Kapoeta receives food aid

(22nd February, 2013) - Communities in Kapoeta, in Eastern Equatoria State have begun receiving food items to help ease a hunger situation in the area.

The Commissioner of Kapoeta South, Martin Lorika, said a company known as 'Edward for Industrial and Commercial limited' has donated 33 tons of food items including flour, lentils and rice.

Meanwhile, a team from the National government is in the Kapoeta area to assess the extent of the hunger and the people’s needs. The team will make recommendations on their return to Juba on what interventions should be carried out.
