47 people killed during cattle raiding in Warrap

More than 47 people were killed and an unidentified number of cattle were stolen on Saturday in Tonj East County of Warrap State by an armed group allegedly said to be from Unity State.

Radio Miraya's Correspondent in Aweil on Sunday talked to the Governor of Warrap State, Nyandeng Malek Dielic, who in his turn confirmed the incident saying that two cattle camps at the border with Unity State were attacked on Saturday morning.

The attack occurred very early in the morning when people were still sleep, 47 people were killed, mainly women and children."

Warrap governor Nyandeng has appealed to the Government of the Republic of South Sudan to carry out the disarmament of civilians and the militias in Unity State to put an end to these hositlities.
