Heavy rainfall has been affecting Eastern Cape Province, causing floods, rivers overflow and severe weather-related incidents that resulted in casualties and damage. The worst-hit areas are located in the OR Tambo District in north-eastern Eastern Cape Province.
According to media reports, at least three people died, of whom one in Maqebevu Village and two others in Rainy Village, and two people are feared missing following floods and severe weather-related incidents.
On 20-21 October drier conditions are expected while on 22 October heavy rain could affect the Eastern Cape Province.
