Over the past couple of days, the Eastern Cape province in south-eastern South Africa experienced heavy rainfall and consequent floods that resulted in casualties and damage.
According to media, at least ten people have died and 3,000 others have been displaced and accommodated in community halls and recently constructed houses. In addition, 30 houses have been destroyed as well as 12 bridges.
For the next 24 hours, drier conditions are expected across the affected province.
