KEY HIGHLIGHTS
Dry conditions and light rains observed within the country and over Ethiopian Highlands, have stabilized the Shabelle and Juba River levels leading to below moderate flood risk levels, including in Belet Weyne and Bulo Burte districts. In June, WFP completed delivery of 19 mt of one-off high-energy biscuits to 19,000 flood affected people, including those living in isolated locations.
WFP reached 2.7 million people with life-saving humanitarian food assistance, including 1.9 million people who received general food assistance (GFA) through cash transfers and 272,000 people through in-kind support.
Another 532,000 vulnerable drought-affected people were served under an expansion of the national safety net programme.
WFP nutrition support increased fourfold as compared to same time last year, reaching 1.3 million people, including children under five and pregnant and lactating women, with 3,949 mt of nutritious commodities and USD 577,000 cash.
