Assessment overview
A joint IDP site verification exercise was conducted in Belet Weyne in February 2023. The operation was led by MOHADM, the Local government, COOPI, DAN, Doowladda hoose, DRC, HCRI, Hiwa, MRDO, Najax, NRC, ODHA, Save the children international, SCI, Somplan NGO, SWDC, SYPD and UNHCR. 119 IDP sites were identified hosting 16,333 households or 94,406 individuals. Compared to the last site verification conducted in January 2022, there was an increase of 27 IDP sites but a decrease of 2,452 HH / 17,981 individuals. The increase may attributed to displacements due to the ongoing drought experienced within Somalia.
