The humanitarian situation remains critical, though the risk of famine has declined. Some 5.4 million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. The malnutrition situation has improved but is still at ‘serious levels’. Some 1.2 million children could be malnourished this year. Over 2.1 million people are displaced - one million of these in 2017.
