- On 9 May, heavy rainfall has impacted the area of the Mogadishu capital city, Banaadir region, southern Somalia, causing floods that have resulted in casualties and damage.
- According to UNHCR and media reports, seven people have died and ten others have been injured. Additionally, 2,688 individuals have been affected and displaced across the districts of Kahda and Daynile. Nine houses have been destroyed, and approximately 200 houses have been damaged in various areas of Mogadishu.
- Over the next 48 hours, drier conditions are expected across the affected area of Somalia.
