The CCCM partner in Hargeisa conducted safety audits in all 16 IDP sites in the city. Site observations, key informant interview and FGD with women and girls were done to understand the risks faced by residents in the sites. The findings of the audit were then presented at a GBV safety audit workshop which was attended by NDRA representatives, NGO partners and women leaders from the IDP camps in Hargeisa. Participants discussed concrete ways to reduce GBV risks and vulnerabilities in the sites, ways to address GBV safety audit recommendations and created a shared action plan for risk mitigation in the sites.
CCCM partners in Dollow completed bush clearing along main roads between Qansaxaley camp and the down town of Dollow town in order to make it safer for women and girls moving between the locations to access work and markets.
Site verification was completed in Garowe where 21 IDP sites hosting 3,421 households were identified.
The CCCM partner in Ainabo district conducted CCCM training for regional government focal points. The training aims to ensure that IDPs have access to quality services through better coordination and information management.
Site maintenance activities are ongoing at fifteen camps in both Cadado and Dhusamareeb. The cash for work based activity improves access, safety and hygiene in sites through small scale improvements such as clearing of pathways and installation of solid waste points.
In Luuq, the CCCM partner finalized the construction of the community center and handed it over to the Camp Management Committee (CMC). The CMC will use this space to hold camp meetings, trainings and other community events to help the management of the site.
