Situational Overview of IDPs, Returnees and Pastoral Communities on Gedo Region

Situational Overview of Dollow IDPs

 There are two major IDPs in Dollow District

 Kabasa and Qansaxley IDPs

 In Kabasa there are 3500 HHs in total with the exception of Newly arrivals from either Ethiopian or Dadaab – Kenya.

 Influx of returnees from neighbouring countries i.e. Ethiopia and Kenya made the situation worse since returnees came to Dollow in large numbers due to relative peace and calm.

 Majority of the families eat one meal a day and rely on their youth to go and do different activities such shoe-shining, selling of firewood, casual labour (washing clothes for well off families) and begging
