Criteria for selection of CPFP
• Should be available in the school. Spent most of his/her time with children in the school.
• Should be friendly with children. Learners are able to trust to speak to.
• The focal points for a school should be two teachers: one male and one female. If there is no female teacher, one of the CEC active female, should be considered.
• They should be able to read and write Somali.
• Must have been trained on child protection, psychosocial support, and education.
If not trained, the implementing partner should first give training or on job training on protection. Abide by the code of conduct.
• Have fine understanding of the context and the emerging issues in the target communities.
• Willing to take the role as CPFP and ready to engage and discuss with the community on issues affecting children in the school.
Roles and responsibilities

Identify and receive cases of children with protection concerns.

Refer cases identified to protection and other service providers in the community.

Solve cases reported.

Attend meetings discussed on protection or other children needs at the school as well as at the community level.

Conduct or participate community awareness raising on protection and education issues conducted in the target schools or community.

Resolve conflict issues in the community or school.

Provide basic psychosocial support to affected learners.

Conduct child protection sessions to the teachers.
