Horn of Africa - Drought Fact Sheet #6, Fiscal Year (FY) 2011



  • Today, the White House announced that the U.S. Government (USG) is providing an additional $105 million to help meet humanitarian needs in the Horn of Africa, bringing total USG funding to approximately $565 million to date in FY 2011. The new funding will support increased food assistance, treatment of severely malnourished children, expanded access to safe water and sanitation facilities, improved humanitarian coordination and information management, and agriculture and food security assistance for refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and drought-affected populations in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia.
