Key Highlights during this Epi-week 4

  1. 74% (217 out of 293) of health facilities submitted their weekly surveillance summary reports. This has decreased from 79% for epi-week 3. This is below the expected completeness rate of 80%.

  2. Completeness of reporting is the highest in Jubaland state (97%) whereas the lowest report rate in this week is in the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA) (41%) – The Completeness rates are the number of expected facilities reporting to e-IDSR Weekly report and actual report we received in this week. While in Puntland State has not reported in week 50 to the DHIS2.

  3. Suspected cases were reported for Cholera (734), Acute Jaundice Syndrome (1), Cluster of unwell people/animals with similar signs symptoms (1), Dysentery (457), COVID-19 (36), Measles (290), Meningitis (21), Whooping Cough (162), SARI (2696), Typhoid (477), Diphtheria (5), Human rabies (14), Yellow fever (12), Leprosy (2) and Neonatal Tetanus (4).

  4. Currently, there are three confirmed disease (Cholera, Covid19 and Measles) outbreak and in this regard all the suspected and confirmed cases were reported the below administrative regions: Cholera (Bakool,
    Bay, Banadir, Galgaduud, Gedo, Hiiraan, Lower Juba, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle and Mudug Regions), COVID-19 (Banadir, Hiiraan, Bay and Gedo regions) and Measles (Bakool, Bay, Banadir, Galgaduud,
    Gedo, Hiiraan, Mudug, Lower Juba, Lower Shabelle and Middle Shabelle regions)

  5. The public health national referral laboratory reported a ten (10) positive Rota virus cases, measles (47)
    Influenza A (2), Dengue (5) and COVID-19 (4).

  6. The reported cases of Acute Jaundice Syndrome, Dysentery, Meningitis, whooping cough, Neonatal tetanus, Diphtheria, Human rabies, Typhoid, Leprosy and Lymphatic filariasis were not investigated.
