Key Highlights during this epi-week 27
• During epi-week 27, a total of 379 (92%) out of 412 health facilities submitted their weekly surveillance reports, which is above the expected rate of reporting.
• A total of 3,766 suspected of epidemic alerts were reported from 379 health facilities in DHIS2. Among those reported 413 suspected cases of AWD/Cholera, Measles (200), diphtheria (9), SARI (15,662), meningitis (1), whooping cough (76), typhoid (534), ILI (1,217), Neonatal Tetanus (5), COVID-19 (8), Acute jaundice (10), AEFI (1) and bloody diarrhea/shigellosis (283).
• During Epi week 27, from both national and state public health laboratories tested 88+9 alerts of which 9 AWD/cholera cases were positive, 3 measles cases were positive and 88 of malaria cases were confirmed with RDT and microscopic. Most of the specimens underwent testing at the laboratories located in Hirshabelle, Southwest, Banadir Regional, and Jubaland State within Somalia.
• Currently, there are three active outbreaks in the country, and they are AWD/cholera, Diphtheria and measles.
