General Situation

A monsoon trough lies over the Solomon Islands and links to a Tropical Depression of 1002 hectapascals relocated near latitude 10.4 degrees south and longitude 160.2 degrees east, approximately 70 nautical miles north of Rennell Island, and 30 nautical miles south of Guadalcanal Island. The system is slow moving.

Forecast for the Provinces

1. Western Province

Rain showers heavy at times with thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh west to northwest winds. Outlook for Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms.

2. Choiseul Province

Rain showers heavy at times with thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwest winds, strong at times in squalls. Outlook for Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms.

3. Isabel Province

Rain showers heavy at times with thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwest winds, strong at times in squalls. Outlook for Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms.

4. Central Province
