CONTEXT

Three weeks after destructive flooding on 3-5 April affected 52,000 people in the Solomon Islands, about half of displaced persons have left the evacuation centres in Honiara. Provision of food, water, health and other services is ongoing in the remaining evacuation centres, and equitable solutions are being explored for the remaining approximately 4,000 persons. Some of the remaining evacuees have lost or damaged homes; others were from informal settlements, owning little or no property.
