The Chairman of Gizo Island Rural Shelter and Rehabilitation Committee, Wilson Katovai assures earthquake and tsunami victims in Gizo and nearby villages to get ready to rebuild their homes.
Mr Katovai confirms receiving a rehabilitation cheque from the Government Treasury Department for one-point-seven million dollars.
He told SIBC News that the money is for the victims of earthquake and tsunami stricken victims in Gizo and the nearby village settlements.
Mr Katovai says his committee will distribute the money to each household accordingly.
He warns recipients of the assistance to use the help wisely for the purposes for which they are intended.
Mr Katovai warns that those who fail to start construction of new homes may not be allowed to receive further assistance in future.
