Anglican Episcopal Church Donates Towards Recovery Efforts

The Anglican International Episcopal Church today has donated SB$5000 towards the Solomon Islands recovery efforts following last month’s flooding which killed at least 22 lives.

The donation was delivered at the National Disaster Management Office this morning by Bishop Lonsdale Hoamana of the Anglican Episcopal Church of Solomon Islands.

The decision to make the donation was made following last week’s visit of the Archbishop of the Anglican International Episcopal Church, Bishop John Langley who expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones and property.

During his visit, Bishop Langley encouraged his congregation to pray for the fast recovery of the families who are affected by the flood.

He said people who have been affected have both physical and spiritual needs and that was why the church and its congregation have made the donation towards the recovery efforts.

Director of the National Disaster Management Office (NDMO) thanked the Church for its donation saying that the assistance will really boost the ongoing recovery efforts.

He said the work that NDMO and its partners are doing now is huge and challenging and donations such as these are very crucial in the current recovery process.
