The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s rescuers started operations in Serbia on 16 May. Over that period they evacuated about 3,000 people, including over 600 children. Ministry’s planes delivered over 105 tonnes of relief goods for the people of Serbia. Medical aid was administered to 47 people.
“The team of the Russian Emergencies Ministry’s rescuers is being withdrawn to home bases. Communal services of Serbia started repairs”, - Chief Military Expert Eduard Chizhikov.
In his tern, Deputy Minister of the Serbia’s Interior Ministry Predrag Maric thanked Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Russian rescuers.
“I would like to express our gratitude on behalf of Serbian people and those who watched the Russian rescuers doing their job. You can be proud of such selflessness… And I also would like to say that the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center in Nis demonstrated its full capacity. I am sure that nobody in Serbia will never forget what you did fir us”, - said the Deputy Minister.
