A Russian Emergencies Ministry Il-76 plane carrying about 27 tonnes of relief goods has landed at the Nikola Tesla airport in the city of Belgrade. There are food stuffs, warm clothes and household appliances. The humanitarian aid was collected on the initiative of the Serbian Embassy in Russia by those who care about Serbs affected by a devastating flood that hit the country in May.
The plane was met by representatives of the Foreign Ministry, Disaster Management Sector of the Serbian Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defense, the Red Cross, as well as senior officials of the Russian Embassy in Belgrade and the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center.
Speaking to journalists, Serbian officials expressed deep gratitude to the Russian Federation and brotherly people of Russia for their help and constant support that they had been showing throughout the whole history of relationships between the two peoples.
