Russian Emergencies Ministry sends rescuers to flood-hit Republic of Serbia

Pursuant to the decision of the RF Government made on the request of the flood-hit Republic of Serbia, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent rescuers of the airmobile team Tsentrospas and the center for extra-risk rescue operations Leader to help the Serbian people.

The Ministry’s Ilyushin Il-76 plane took off from the Ramenskoye airport. There are over 70 highest trained rescuers, necessary cutting-edge rescue equipment, including wet suits, diving and specialized gears, and power boats aboard the plane. The Russian team of rescuers has everything needed for SAR operations in the flooded area and is ready to operate autonomously for 15 days.

In Serbia the operations involve specialists of the Russian-Serbian Humanitarian Center, one of tasks of which is response to natural disasters in Serbia and other countries in the Balkans. The Center's mobile power stations and monoblock pumps are set up to provide the affected people with lifeline services.
