OSCE opens NGO Centre in Pristina

(Pristina, 28 March 2000) The OSCE is opening a new NGO Centre in Pristina on March 30, 2000. The NGO Centres in Pristina, Pec/Peja and Prizren are designed for local NGOs to have access to office and training facilities and resources.
The objective of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe is to create a favourable environment for NGO and Civil Society structures in Kosovo.

By establishing the NGO Centres OSCE contributes to the goal of building democratic institutions for individuals and organizations.

The NGO Center's primary beneficiaries in Pristina will be the local NGO community but international agencies are also welcome to use the facilities. The Centre provides information, assistance and a meeting point for NGOs and offers computers, phone, fax, copiers and rooms for meetings and training.

The NGO Centre in Pristina is located at Vellusha e Postme street 7/a and its opening hours are Monday - Friday 08:00- 20:00 hrs. and Saturdays 09:00-16:00 hrs. Telephone number: 038 22 625.

Note: The representatives of NGOs and media are welcome to attend the opening of NGO Centre on Thursday, 30 March at 16:00 hrs.
