OSCE Chairman-in-Office visits Kosovo

(Pristina, 10th May 2001) The OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana, will be visiting Kosovo on 13 May 2001.
During his stay Mr. Geoana will be holding discussions with Hans Haekkerup, the UN Special Representative in Kosovo, Lieutenant General Thorstein Skiaker, Commander KFOR, OSCE and key political representatives in Kosovo.

Mr. Geoana will also be giving the keynote speech at the Kosovo Police Service School graduation ceremony.

The Chairman-in-Office is vested with overall responsibility for executive action and co-ordination of current OSCE activities.=A0 This includes: co-ordination of the work of OSCE Institutions, representing the Organization, and supervising activities related to conflict prevention, crisis management and post-conflict rehabilitation.

Media are invited to attend a press conference by the Chairman-in-Office.
