Kosovo: Two People Killed in Attack on Bus

UNMIK/PR/150
Pristina -- UNMIK strongly condemned the killing of two people and the wounding of another three when the UNHCR weekly shuttle was hit by an anti-tank rocket today.

The shuttle, carrying 49 passengers, was travelling from Banja to Mitrovica when it was hit by the rocket near the village of Cubrelj, about 15 km southwest of Mitrovica at approximately 4 p.m. The bus was being escorted by French KFOR when the attack occurred. All the casualties were ethnic Serbs.

"UNMIK deeply deplores this senseless attack on innocent Kosovar residents", said Principal Deputy SRSG Jock Covey. "UNMIK and KFOR will spare no effort in investigating this incident in order to bring those responsible to justice."
