Suspect in Murder of KFOR Soldier Escapes

At 6:30 yesterday morning, the 15-year old boy who was arrested in connection with last Thursday's murder of the Russian peacekeeper, has escaped. He was in the custody of KFOR Military Police in military barracks in Mitrovica when he managed to squeeze through a very small window in a toilet. Every effort will be made to recapture the boy.

Incidents and Arrests

Yesterday, KFOR troops in MNB South arrested an Albanian man at the Morina South border crossing in connection with a murder. He is now in UNMIK police custody.

Last night, a KFOR patrol heard an explosion in Velika Reka (MNB North) near the Orthodox church. KFOR United Arab Emirates soldiers placed a tight security cordon around the site and an investigation is in progress today.

KFOR Norwegian troops reported that a Serb house in Obilic (MNB Centre) was hit by small arms fire last night. There were no casualties and an investigation is in progress.

Yesterday, two Albanian men were arrested and detained in KFOR Italian Military Police jail in MNB West on charges of aggression and attempted murder.

Weapons Confiscations

Yesterday afternoon in Ponosevac (MNB West), KFOR soldiers found one AK-47, three magazines and a quantity of ammunition. An Albanian man was arrested for questioning.
