On 22 May 2014, the Red Cross of Serbia distributed 4 truckloads of humanitarian assistance to citizens affected by floods in Ćićevac, Vladimirci and Obrenovac.
In the period 16 - 22 May 2014, the Red Cross of Serbia distributed 448 tons of humanitarian assistance in food and personal hygiene items to areas affected by floods..
Citizens and companies have donated 23,186,001 RSD and 60,329 EUR on the bank accounts of the Red Cross of Serbia. The lowest private donation to 50 RSD while 333.600 RSD.
The Red Cross Smederevo participated in evacuation of the Centre for gerontology in Obrenovac and 38 elderly citizens are now accommodated in the Retirement Home in Smederevo.
Humanitarian assistance sent today consists of the following items:
- 13,720 meat cans,
- 330 ready-to-eat meals,
- 10,260 litters of bottled water,
- 105 packets of crackers,
- 1,000 litters of various juices,
- 50 pairs of rubber boots,
- 350 blankets,
- 730 litters of disinfectant,
- 630 litters of dishwashing liquid,
- 1,890 kg of laundry detergent,
- 1,260 packets of toilet paper,
- 90 mops,
- 630 towels, and
- 630 kitchen sponges.
The Red Cross of Serbia has distributed the assistance on the basis of needs communicated by the Red Cross branches who will forward humanitarian assistance to citizens in municipalities affected by floods.
The Red Cross of Serbia will continue to distributed humanitarian assistance for citizens affected by floods in accordance with the needs in the field.
