Federal Human Rights Commissioner Claudia Roth travels to Belgrade and Kosovo

Claudia Roth, Member of the German Bundestag, is travelling to Belgrade and Kosovo from 15 to 17 June in her capacity as the Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Aid at the Federal Foreign Office. Talks will focus on the state of human rights in Serbia and Montenegro and in Kosovo as well as the situation of Roma and other minorities.
In Belgrade talks are planned with members of the Government (including the Foreign Minister and the Minister of Minority and Human Rights), representatives of various non-governmental organizations, the OSCE High Commissioner on National Minorities as well as representatives of the Roma.

In Kosovo, Ms Roth's partners in talks will include the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General, Michael Steiner, officials of UNHCR and the Office for Returns and Communities, representatives of the Roma and also of the Women's Forum of the Democratic League.

On 17 June Ms Roth will visit the Roma community at Fushe Kosove/Kosovo Polje. On 16 June she will pay a visit to German soldiers in Kosovo and stay overnight at their camp in Prizren.
