The 13ᵗʰ bulletin of CERFAM, titled “Rice Fortification — An Untapped Opportunity to Improve Nutrition in West and Central Africa”, explores fortified rice as a practical, scalable, and cost-effective solution to strengthen food systems and improve nutrition across the region. Bringing together expert perspectives and technical insights, the bulletin highlights recent innovations, key challenges, and emerging opportunities in rice fortification. It features collaborative contributions from leading organisations, including GAIN, UNICEF, WFP, AfricaRice and Sight and Life, and draws on field experiences in Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria, and Burkina Faso.
