Highlights

  • Since January 2025, a total of 18 lab-confirmed dengue cases have been recorded. 1 case has been confirmed to be Dengue Virus Serotype 2 (DENV-2).
  • In this epi-week, there were 6 new lab-confirmed dengue cases recorded
  • A cumulative total of 18 cases were notified; reflecting an incidence rate of 8.8 cases per 100,000.
  • Sadly, there has been one dengue-related death recorded to date
  • 100% of cases were reported from Upolu island; 50% female and 50% male
  • 31% of all cases were hospitalized at TTMH
  • 67% of all cases were visited by the Vector Control Team to conduct environmental assessments and Outdoor Residual Spraying (ORS)
  • Majority of dengue cases are distributed across the Apia Urban Area (AUA) and North West of Upolu (NWU) regions
