THE SAINT LUCIA METEOROLOGICAL SERVICES WISHES TO INFORM RESIDENTS OF SAINT LUCIA THAT THE LEVEL OF THREAT TO LIFE AND PROPERTY FROM HURRICANE EMILY HAS DIMINISHED SUFFICIENTLY FOR AN "ALL CLEAR" TO BE ISSUED. WIND SPEEDS AND WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO GRADUALLY RETURN TO NORMAL DURING THE COURSE OF TODAY.

SMALL CRAFT AND LOCAL FISHERMEN ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING IN THE SOUTH OF THE ISLAND ARE URGED TO CONTINUE EXERCISING CAUTION AS THEY MAY ENCOUNTER HEAVY SEAS AND GUSTY WINDS. HURRICANE EMILY CONTINUES TO MOVE AWAY FROM THE ISLANDS OVER THE CARIBBEAN SEA.

WEST OR ABOUT 130 MILES SOUTH WEST OF SAINT LUCIA.

EMILY IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST NEAR 18 M.P.H. AND THIS GENERAL MOTION IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS. MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS ARE NEAR 90 M.P.H. WITH HIGHER GUSTS AND SOME STRENGTHENING IS FORECAST DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS.
