01 March 2021 — One hundred, and thirty-six (136) new COVID-19 cases were identified out of 3410 samples tested today. This brings the cumulative number of confirmed cases eighteen thousand, nine hundred and eighty-six (18986). To date, seventeen thousand, three hundred, and twenty-two (17322) patients have recovered, including nine (9) in the past 24 hours. The number of active cases is one thousand, and four hundred (1400) and two hundred, and sixty-four (264) deaths.

The new cases are in Kigali (30), Kirehe (17),Nyamasheke (16), Nyamagabe (11), Gisagara (7), Huye (7), Ngororero (6), Karongi (5), Rubavu (5), Ruhango (5), Nyaruguru (4), Nyanza (4), Rusizi (4), Muhanga (3), Kayonza (3), Gakenke (2), Gicumbi (2), Rulindo (1), Ngoma (1), Nyagatare (1), Burera (1), and Kamonyi (1); heightened vigilance is required everywhere.

The COVID-19 prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must continue to be rigorously observed, especially frequent hand-washing and physical distancing. In addition, face masks must be worn in public and multi-family compounds.
Withholding information related to contact tracing or COVID-19 symptoms, jeopardises public safety and will be punished in accordance with applicable laws.
