12,928 refugees live in Nyabiheke refugee camp which is located in Gatsibo District in the Eastern Province of Rwanda.
The camp was established in 2005 mainly to reduce the overcrowding in Gihembe (North province) and Kiziba (Western province) camps. 80% of the camp's population are women and children below 18 years old.
