A group of the Russian Security Council members headed by Security Council Deputy Secretary General Valentin Sobolev left for the South Federal district Tuesday.

The trip deals with the control over fulfilling the Security Council's decisions of February 27, 2002, on further settlement in the Chechen republic, RIA Novosti learned at the Council's press service on Wednesday.

The group will analyze the activities of the executive bodies for ensuring order and public security in Chechnya, the process of restoring the republic's social-economic and information spheres, and will define priority tasks for achieving these goals.

The results of the check will be considered at a Security Council session at the end of January. (RIA Novosti)
