Russian Minister on Chechnya Stanislav Ilyasov has refuted statements that Chechen refugees residing in Ingushetia are forced to take part in the referendum on the Chechen Constitution scheduled for March 23rd. Living conditions in refugees' camps "will in no way depend on whether or not their residents will come to the referendum," the Minister stressed in his interview with RIA Novosti.

The Minister also refuted some mass media's statements that refugees were forced to return to Chechnya. Such rumours are being spread by "those interested in escalation of the Chechen conflict," he said. ( RIA Novosti)
