Flood situation on the territory of the Russian Federation - 25 May 2011

On the territory of the Russian Federation in the Southern and Northwestern Federal Districts in 2 subjects, 3 municipalities, 4 settlements, 6 (within 24 hours +6) houses are flooded to the level of the base, 134 (within 24 hours +12) farmlands with a population of 162 (within 24 hours +33) people, including 25 children, are flooded. 42 people including 4 children are evacuated, accommodated at their friends' and relatives'.

According to operational forecasting of 25.05.2011, the complication of the flood situation is expected in Krasnodar Territory and the Republics of Adygea and Dagestan (the reasons are heavy rains).

During the anti-flood measures 350 ice-blasting operations were carried out, 87352.23 kg of explosives were used, 367.26 km of ice was sawed through and 32.9 sq. km was sprinkled with coal and sand, 73.26 (within 24 hours - 1.071) km of coastline was strengthened, 110,9 (within 24 hours 0.567) km of river beds was cleared, 1044 km passed by icebreakers.

46 task forces, including 2 task forces from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia were involved within 24 hours to monitor the flood situation and anti-flood measures.

In total in the Russian Federation 788 people and 239 pieces of equipment, including 160 people and 17 pieces of equipment from EMERCOM, were involved in anti-flood works within 24 hours.
