Chechen refugees living in Ingushetia ready to take part in referendum

Over 10, 000 Chechen refugees living in neighbouring Ingushetia are willing to take part in the referendum on the Chechen constitution, Deputy Head of Republican Election Committee Buvaisar Arsakhanov told RIA Novosti on Thursday.

They've filled in the ballot papers distributed among them by the election commission and had been put on electoral rolls, Arsakhanov said.

He said that the refugees would cast their vote at polling stations set up in the settlements of Assinovskaya and Sernovodskaya on the Chechen border.

The deputy head said that mobile polling stations would not be set up on the administrative border. According to the Chechen election committee, 27, 000 voters have been registered. (RIA Novosti )
