Severe thunderstorms with hail and have been affecting northern and eastern Romania, particularly Neamt and Suceava counties, triggering river overflows and flooding that caused fatalities and material damage.
On 30 July, three people were killed in Suceava county. Additionally, 205 people were evacuated and 2,500 affected in Suceava county, while 700 people have been evacuated in Neamt county. Media also reports collapsed and damaged bridges, uprooted trees, and significant damage to crops and vehicles.
Over the next 48 hours, thunderstorms with hail are forecast in the south, centre, and east of the country.
