South Korea - Floods and landslides (KMA, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 11 July 2024)

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting southern South Korea, in particular the South Chungcheong and the North Jeolla provinces, over the last 36 hours, causing floods and triggering landslides that have resulted in casualties and damage.
  • Media report, as 11 July, four fatalities and more than 3,500 people displaced across the South Chungcheong and the North Jeolla provinces, where the affected counties and municipalities are Chupungnyeong, Geumsan, Gunsan, Nonsan, Seocheon and Daegu.
  • Over the next 24 hours, moderate rainfall is forecast over most of South Korea.
