South Korea - Flood (Korea Meteorological Administration, media) (ECHO Daily Flash of 19 July 2024)

  • Heavy rainfall has been affecting South Korea, in particular Seoul city and the surrounding metropolitan area, over the last two days, causing floods that have resulted in evacuations and damage.
  • As of 19 July, according to media reports, at least 901 people have been evacuated from 628 flooded houses in 36 municipalities and districts in the area. Flood warnings along along the Imjin and Hantan rivers have been issued.
  • Over the next 24 hours, moderate rainfall is forecast over most of South Korea, with locally very heavy rainfall in the northern part.
