Republic of Korea - Severe weather, floods, and landslides, update (IFRC, Korea Meteorological Administration) (ECHO Daily Flash of 25 July 2025)

  • From 16 to 21 July, the Republic of Korea has been affected by heavy rainfall causing extensive flooding and landslides, that have resulted in fatalities, displacement, and extensive infrastructural damage.

  • The IFRC, as at 22 July, reports 19 fatalities and 9 people missing. Approximately 14 575 individuals were evacuated from 15 provinces, with 2 549 remaining displaced and currently residing in temporary shelters. Additionally, more than 6 700 buildings have been affected.

  • Over the next 48 hours, dry conditions are expected across the country.
