From 16 to 21 July, the Republic of Korea has been affected by heavy rainfall causing extensive flooding and landslides, that have resulted in fatalities, displacement, and extensive infrastructural damage.

The IFRC, as at 22 July, reports 19 fatalities and 9 people missing. Approximately 14 575 individuals were evacuated from 15 provinces, with 2 549 remaining displaced and currently residing in temporary shelters. Additionally, more than 6 700 buildings have been affected.

Over the next 48 hours, dry conditions are expected across the country.
